Nigerian security forces have arrested a suspected terrorist popularly known as Sule Yellow, who gained notoriety on social media after allegedly flaunting kidnapping operations and ransom payments on TikTok.
The suspect, who reportedly operated the TikTok account @Suleyellow6, was apprehended by the Nigerian Army as part of ongoing operations targeting bandit and terrorist groups responsible for kidnappings and violent attacks in northern Nigeria.
Sule Yellow first drew widespread attention after appearing in a viral TikTok livestream on March 4, 2026, alongside another suspected bandit identified as Auta and several members of their gang. During the broadcast, the group allegedly discussed their criminal activities and boasted about ongoing kidnapping operations.
In a video circulating online, the suspect was seen handcuffed and surrounded by soldiers while being interrogated about weapons believed to have been used by his group.
When asked where the rifles were kept, the suspect reportedly told the officers that some were located in Rijano, while another was with an associate identified as Dogo.
During the interrogation, security personnel also asked him to confirm the identity linked to his TikTok account. He responded that his name was Sale Ibrahim.
One of the soldiers present in the video stated that the suspect was among the individuals who had been openly displaying weapons and ransom money on TikTok.
Security operatives also displayed a polythene bag believed to contain ransom money allegedly recovered during the operation. According to one officer in the footage, the money was connected to a recent kidnapping carried out by the group.
The arrest is believed to be part of broader efforts by Nigerian security forces to dismantle armed bandit networks that have carried out kidnappings, killings, and attacks on rural communities across northern Nigeria.
In recent years, some bandit groups have increasingly used social media platforms such as TikTok to intimidate communities, display weapons, and sometimes broadcast ransom negotiations — a trend that has raised growing concerns among security agencies and the public.
Authorities have not yet released an official statement providing full details of the arrest, including the exact location where Sule Yellow was captured or the identities of other gang members mentioned during the interrogation.
