Residents of Lile, a community in Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara State, were thrown into panic on Thursday after reports emerged that a large group of armed bandits was advancing toward the area.

According to local sources, the attackers were seen riding in a convoy of more than 40 motorcycles, each reportedly carrying two or three armed men. Their movement raised immediate fear of an impending attack, forcing many villagers to flee or seek refuge indoors.

Security agencies were said to have been alerted, while some community vigilantes attempted to track the group’s movement. However, as of the time of this report, it was unclear whether the armed men had entered the community or changed direction.

Authorities have yet to issue an official statement, but residents are calling for urgent intervention to prevent a possible invasion.
