Urhobo College Reinstated to Delta Principals’ Cup Final After Opponent’s Disqualification

Urhobo College, Uvwie, has been reinstated to the final of the 2025 Zenith Bank/Delta Principals’ Cup following the disqualification of Otokutu Grammar School, Ughelli South, for fielding an ineligible player in the semi-final match.

Otokutu Grammar School had initially celebrated a 3–0 victory in the semi-final, securing what seemed like a comfortable ticket to face Ogbe-Ijoh Grammar School of Warri South West in the championship final. However, a formal protest was filed against them, prompting the tournament organisers to launch an investigation.

After reviewing the case, the organisers ruled in favour of the protest, nullifying Otokutu’s win and elevating Urhobo College to the final. Otokutu will now compete in the third-place playoff against Justice, Peace & Success Academy of Aniocha South.

The final, originally fixed for October 16, was postponed to allow for the investigation. With the issue now resolved, organisers have confirmed that new dates for both the third-place match and the final will soon be announced.

Both matches are scheduled to hold at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba. The day’s fixtures will open with the third-place encounter between Justice, Peace & Success Academy and Otokutu Grammar School, followed by the final clash between Urhobo College, Uvwie, and Ogbe-Ijoh Grammar School, Warri South West.
