Super Eagles’ All-Time Top Goal Scorers

Nigeria’s Super Eagles cruised past Benin Republic with a 4–0 victory on Tuesday night to seal qualification for the 2026 World Cup African playoffs.

Victor Osimhen was the standout performer in Uyo, netting a brilliant hat-trick that propelled him to second place on Nigeria’s all-time top scorers’ chart. The Napoli striker now has 29 goals in 43 appearances, just eight behind Rashidi Yekini’s long-standing record of 37 goals in 62 matches.

Osimhen opened the scoring just three minutes into the game after a clever assist from Samuel Chukwueze. He doubled Nigeria’s lead in the 37th minute with a powerful header before completing his hat-trick early in the second half from a Moses Simon free-kick.

Frank Onyeka added a fourth goal in stoppage time to complete the dominant win.

The result rekindled optimism among fans as the team heads into the playoffs, with Osimhen inching closer to becoming Nigeria’s greatest ever goalscorer.
